Vino Mody has worked as vice president of quality in four different electronics companies for over 25 years - Scientific Atlanta satellite network and cable systems in Lawrenceville, Georgia; Ascom Timeplex in Hoboken, New Jersey and Bern, Switzerland; Gtech in West Greenwich, Rhode Island; and Service provider video technology group at Scientific Atlanta and Cisco in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He has extensive consulting experience working with major management consultants and has been credited for achieving multifold productivity and reliability improvement of cable, satellite and network products in these companies.

He holds a BS degree in electrical engineering and a BS degree in mechanical engineering from University of Bombay; a traffic engineering diploma from Yale University sponsored by IBM; an MS degree in industrial administration from Ohio State University; MBA from University of Dayton, Ohio.

He is an ASQ (American Society of Quality) Certified Quality Engineer and ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer. His ASQ affiliations include senior member, a former Georgia section certification examination proctor, and a former member of the ASQ National Speakers List. Vino also sat on the Malcolm Baldrige and Six Sigma examiners board at Nations Bank and Motorola.

Vino has taught quality and reliability management courses to graduate students at major universities in the U.S. He has also taught courses for Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer and Quality Auditor certifications at several US companies and local ASQ chapters in several states within the U.S.

Vino Mody has served as quality and reliability consultant at few major companies such as NCR, General Motors, Pitney Bowes, Hewlett Packard, Hayes Modems, Scientific Atlanta, Ascom Timeplex, Fluor Structural Engineering Company and Argentina Automated Lottery Systems.

He has visited to help, audit and qualify over 200 electronics factories world-wide in the USA, Canada, China, Western and Eastern Europe, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. He has resolved major cost and quality issues with many customers in these countries. Vino was invited to hold numerous tutorial sessions on quality in design and manufacturing at numerous factories in different countries.

Currently, he is offering his consulting service on design and manufacturing to few clients with focus on the success of third party high volume off-shore suppliers.

Vino Mody has published two books: 1. Quality in High Volume Electronics Design, Manufacturing and Delivery, and 2. Metrics for Winning Customers in Electronics. His third book – Invented AND Made in the USA – is planned to be published in April, 2017.He is working on a new book on overcoming adversities on path to excellence for a planned release in 2017.
